Daily Meditation: among the blind

in each tiny interaction with other beings
we leave our traces behind.
a smile, a murmur,
a passing fragrance on skin
a positive thought
an empty word
we cannot usually see them, count them, or erase them
But our influence does somehow endure, echo, and is echoed
among the blind and intoxicated

now ‘we’ can see only into one chaotic world
which we consume, but if we are still and silent
for only a second, ‘Just Look!’
